Why do we use our own VPS servers?

The question of the quality of website hosting usually arises years later, when real users from search engines start visiting the site. And also when an income-generating website suddenly stops working. Here are the main reasons for choosing an VPS servers:

  1. We first encountered a hosting problem when approximately 30,000 visitors per day started visiting one of our sites. This site began to cause too much inconvenience to ordinary hosting companies, because the hosting fee was only a few dollars a month, and the site consumed a lot of server resources. Therefore, the VPS became the only salvation. At a relatively low price, all server resources are yours. No one blocks the site, and it always works fast.
  2. Other people’s sites located on the same server can cause a lot of problems. One of these problems was the spread of malicious code that got on all hosting sites. Securing the server is simple, but it requires disabling many functions that may be required by various users. Therefore, on regular hosting sites, all options are usually enabled, which reduces the overall security of the server.
  3. Well-known and popular hosting sites are more likely to be attacked. If you start looking for a hosting service for your website, you will probably find such names as WPEngine, Flywheel, Bluehost, GoDaddy, and so on. Yes, these are huge companies with huge advertising budgets and they will easily convince you of their exclusivity. However, their popularity is their weak point. Any hacker attacking such hosting services, if successful, gets access to thousands of sites. What’s the point of a hacker spending time on servers with few sites?
  4. We use the principle of separation of VPS servers. It is better to have several less powerful servers than one large one. This reduces the risks for the sites as a whole. Even if something happens, it will take 10 minutes to restore the server backup. Compare this to resuscitating “powerful” large servers, where this process takes hours.
  5. Convenient setup of backups. On our VPS server, we are not limited by any tariffs for the volume of traffic, so we can make backups in any convenient way and any number of times a day.
  6. For high-load sites, we use separate VPS servers. This ensures high performance at any time of the day. This is especially important for sites with a large number of pages (for example, we have a site with 250 thousand pages). When Google bots and bots from other systems start scanning the pages of a website, this immediately creates a very heavy load on the server, which is almost impossible to offset on shared hosting.
  7. We can offer other VPS-based services. In general, we are not limited to working only with websites. If you have any other tasks, we can also discuss them.
